Two Men Burglarize Convenience Store. Two men burglarize a Northeast El Paso convenience store and are recorded by security cameras. Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for help to identify the two men through the Crime of The Week.
 
On the morning of Monday, January 17, 2022, at 3:58 A.M., two men walked into the Circle K convenience store located at 4101 N. Piedras. One of the men walked into the business office and stole a pack of Eagle 20’s brand cigarettes. The man exited the office and went into a restroom. Moments later, that same man returned to the office and stole an Apple iPad tablet computer.
 
Both men left the store and fled the scene in an older model Buick. The suspect that entered the office was wearing a baseball cap with a logo in the center, a black ski mask, a dark jacket, blue jeans, and black and white athletic shoes. The other suspect was wearing a baseball cap, an orange hooded sweatshirt, a light-colored jacket, blue running pants, and black and white athletic shoes. The vehicle is a white, Buick, 4-door car, with black trim, and a missing front driverside hubcap.

Tips Sought On Shoplifter Turned Robber

EL PASO, TEXAS – A shoplifter threatens store employees with a switchblade at a Central El Paso store.   Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for help to identify the armed robber through the Crime of The Week.
 
On the afternoon of Saturday, January 15, 2022, a man on a scooter entered the Target store located at 6001 Gateway West at Bassett Mall. The man placed the scooter in a shopping cart and began to grab various items throughout the store.  Loss prevention employees noticed that the man was placing items inside of a backpack and walking towards the exit. When loss prevention employees confronted the man, he pulled out a switchblade and threatened them.  The man fled the store in a black scooter and took various electronic items. He is a Hispanic male with a dark complexion, 5’7” in height, with black hair.  He was wearing a black and white baseball cap, a black facemask, a black hooded jacket, a white tee-shirt, black pants, and black athletic shoes.

Search Continues For Hit and Run Driver

The search continues for the driver involved in a hit and run fatality that took place almost eight months ago on a northeast El Paso highway.

On the early morning of Sunday, May 23rd, 2021, at 2:34 A.M., 24-year-old Sergio Alberto Banda was walking on one of the southbound lanes of US 54 on the third lane of traffic.  A car traveling on that lane, struck Banda and fled the scene. Investigators found evidence indicating the vehicle involved is a 2011 to 2019 Grey Nissan Versa.  The front left side of the vehicle will have damage including a missing driver’s side mirror.  Banda left behind a wife and a 19-month old daughter.

Tips Sought On Hit and Run Driver Who Killed Elderly Woman

The hit-and-run case of a 92-year-old woman killed in El Paso’s Mission Valley remains open. Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department are asking for help finding the driver involved through the Crime of The Week.
 
On the afternoon of Sunday, March 7, 2021, 92-year old Petra Zamorano attempted to cross the 8300 block of Alameda from the south curb to the north curb. When Zamorano was crossing, a car traveling west on Alameda struck her. The driver did not stop and fled the scene westbound on Troy towards Yarbrough.
 
A second car also struck Zamorano, but that driver stopped and remained at the scene. Petra Zamorano died at the scene. According to witnesses, the vehicle involved is a gray or silver Chrysler PT Cruiser or similar type of car.

Tips Sought to Identify Man Who Shot at Uber Eats Driver

A man fires a handgun at a man making a delivery for Uber Eats.  Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for help in finding the shooter through the Crime of The Week.

 

On the night of Saturday, November 11, 2021, at 10:58 P.M., a driver for Uber Eats makes a delivery at the 7100 block of Alameda at a mobile home park.  After the delivery, the driver was getting directions for his next stop, when a man armed with a handgun approached his vehicle.  The man opened the victim’s passenger-side door and fired the weapon in the direction of the victim.  The victim was not hit and the suspect quickly ran from the scene.  Security video captured the possible suspect walking towards the victim’s car.  The suspect has a limp while walking and is described as a Hispanic male.

A Handgun Is Stolen In A Spree of Vehicle Burglaries

EL PASO, TEXAS – A handgun is stolen in a spree of vehicle burglaries in east El Paso. Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department asks for your help identifying the man involved in these burglaries through the Crime of the Week. On the early morning of Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 4:42 A.M., a man is seen on security cameras approaching vehicles in a driveway at the 1000 block of Bold Ruler. The man finds an unlocked car door and opens the trunk and steals several items. Security cameras also captured the suspect at the 12200 block of Bronco Buster where he burglarized additional vehicles.
 
The suspect stole a variety of items including, a laptop, camera, and a handgun. Investigators believe another individual may have been with the suspect.

Man With Sweet Tooth Holds Up Convenience Store

EL PASO, TEXAS – A man with a sweet tooth holds up a central El Paso convenience store with a knife.  Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for your help identifying this armed robber through the Crime of the Week.

 

On the afternoon of Monday, September 20, 2021, at 12:25 P.M., a man walked into the Seven-Eleven store located at 6060 Alameda.  The man threatened the store employee with a knife and demanded money.  The man took an undisclosed amount of cash and several Hershey’s Chocolate bars.

According to witnesses, the man fled the scene southbound on Clark in a gray S.U.V. or truck.  The man is Hispanic, in his mid to late 30s, short, approximately 5 feet in height, dark complexion, thin build, shaved head, and tattoos on both arms.

 

He was wearing a white tank-top, blue denim jeans, a dark belt, and white athletic shoes.

A Man Robs Two Different Vehicles at Gunpoint

A man robs a woman of her car at gunpoint and minutes later forces a man out of his truck.  Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for your help in identifying this carjacker through the Crime of the Week.
 
On the evening of Sunday, September 5, 2021, at 5:56 P.M., a woman was walking to her car at the Pear Tree Apartment complex at 222 Bartlett on El Paso’s Westside.  A man armed with a gun demanded the keys to her car.  The man fled the scene in the victim’s 2015 Ford Fiesta.  

Minutes later, at 6:22 p.m., the suspect jumped out of the stolen car and forced a man out of his 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck at the intersection of Railroad and Quail in Northeast El Paso.  In this incident, the suspect fired a handgun up in the air. The stolen pickup was later found at the 2500 block of Sparkman near Austin High School. 

The suspect is a white male with a very thin build, has green eyes, and a tattoo near his left eye.  He was wearing a black hooded jacket the day of the incident.

Home Burglar Steals Truck and Comes Back

A home burglar steals a truck and returns to the home at least two times.  Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department asks for your help to identify this burglar through the Crime of the Week.

 

In the early morning of Saturday, August 7, 2021, a man broke into a home at the 10200 block of Bush Ln. in east El Paso.  The burglar forced his way inside of the home through a backdoor.  The suspect found the keys to a white 2016 Chevrolet Cheyenne with Chihuahua license plates and stole the truck. Security cameras captured the suspect leaving and returning at least twice.   The suspect first returned to the home at 5:22 A.M., left, and came back one more time. The suspect left for the last time at 5:47 A.M.

One Teen Is Killed Another Wounded In Shooting

EL PASO, TEXAS – A teen was killed and another wounded after a shooting outside a house party in East El Paso. Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for help to find those involved in the murder through the Crime of the Week.
 
On the overnight hours of Sunday, August 22, 2021, at 2:10 A.M., a house party at the 12500 block of Wendy Reed got out of control after it had become overcrowded.  Soon after, fights broke out outside, and there was an exchange of gunfire between some of the individuals fighting.  As a result, 18-year old Kenneth Ellababedi was fatally shot and died at the scene.  A 17-year old teen was also shot and received non-life threatening injuries.

A Woman is Stabbed in a Central El Paso Bar

EL PASO, TEXAS – A woman is stabbed during an altercation in a Central El Paso bar. Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for help identifying this assailant through this week's Crime of The Week.

 

During the night of July 8, 2021, around 1:44 A.M., a fight broke out between patrons at the Headquarters Tap House Bar located at 2910 Tularosa Avenue. A woman, who was not involved, was stabbed in the leg by a man, injuring her artery. While attempting to break up the fight, the offender also stabbed a bouncer in the forearm before fleeing the bar. The suspect was last seen running north on Piedras with another unidentified man depicted in the attached photograph.

 

The suspect is described as possibly Middle Eastern, about 5'6" in height, thin build, with a beard and ponytail. He was wearing all black with a white logo on the front of the shirt. Police are also looking for the male accompanying the suspect for questioning about the incident.

Car Burglar Poses As Deputy When Confronted

A car burglar poses as a sheriff’s deputy after being confronted looking into a vehicle.  Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department are asking for help identifying this burglar through the Crime of the Week. 

 

On the morning of Wednesday, June 23, 2021, a suspect was involved in burglarizing vehicles and stole a Sheriff’s Deputy badge.  A little later, the suspect was looking in parked vehicles in the area of Montwood and Octubre when a homeowner confronted the suspect.  The suspect used the stolen badge to tell the homeowner he was a deputy conducting an investigation and left. 

 

The suspect is a Hispanic male in his late teens or early 20’s.  The suspect has a tattoo on his left wrist area.

Road Rage Murder Remains Open

EL PASO, TEXAS – A man is killed in East El Paso as a result of a road rage incident.   Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department asks for help in identifying the person involved in this murder through the Crime of The Week.

 

On the afternoon of Thursday, February 18, 2021, the victim, 39-year old Jose Guzman, was driving with his wife and daughter in a 2013 Ford Focus on Joe Battle.  There was some type of road rage incident between the victim and the unknown suspect.

 

The victim exited Joe Battle and pulled into a parking lot at 1201 Bob Hope.  The suspect followed and also pulled into the parking lot.  The victim began to walk toward the suspect's vehicle.

 

According to witnesses, the driver of the vehicle accelerated towards the victim, struck him, and fled.  Jose Guzman died days later from his injuries.  The suspect's vehicle is a 4-door red or burgundy car.  The vehicle will have damage to the front right side.

Northeast Store Robbed At Knifepoint

EL PASO, TEXAS – A man holds up a northeast El Paso convenience store with a knife.  Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for help identifying this robber through the “Crime of The Week.” 

 

On the early morning of Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 3:40 A.M., a man walked into the Circle K store located at 10567 Rushing.  The man threatened the store clerk with a knife and demanded money from the cash register.  The man took a small undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene running.  According to witnesses, the suspect ran northbound towards Salem. 

 

Witnesses describe the suspect as a dark-skinned male, possibly Hispanic or Black. He was wearing a black and white bandana on his face, a black sleeveless tee-shirt, black shorts with white trim on the side, and white athletic shoes.

Woman Violently Attacked and Robbed
June 25, 2021

 

EL PASO, TX- A woman is violently attacked and her car stolen in the parking lot of a West El Paso gym.  Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department are asking for help to solve this brutal robbery through the “Crime of The Week.” 

On the night of Friday, June 11, 2021, at 10 P.M., a 24 year old woman exited the TruFit Athletic Club located at 750 Sunland Park Drive. The woman approached her car and was grabbed from behind.  The suspect placed the victim in a chokehold and caused her to lose consciousness.  The   unidentified man then took the victim’s wallet, cellular phone, and vehicle.  The suspect fled the scene in the victim’s car a white 2018 Toyota and ran over the victim’s legs.  The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for several injuries and released.  The stolen vehicle was located on Saturday June 12.  At this time there is not a description on the suspect other than it was a male.

Central El Paso Murder Case Remains Opened
June 18, 2021

 

EL PASO, TEXAS – The murder of an El Paso attorney and the violent attack of her husband remains open.  Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for help to solve this murder through the “Crime of The Week.” 

 

On the evening of Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 7:35 P.M., an unidentified man went to the home of Georgette and Daniel Kaufman on the 3000-block of Copper.  The man was armed with a handgun and shot 50-year old Georgette Kaufman multiple times.

 

The suspect then also shot at 48-year old Daniel Kaufman.  Georgette Kaufman did not survive her injuries.  Daniel Kaufman was injured and taken to the hospital.  Disclosure of additional information is not possible due to the active investigation.      

 

The suspect is a white male, between 5’10” to 6’0” in height, with a thin build.  The man involved was possibly bald and was wearing dark clothing on the day of the murder.

Man Recorded Using Stolen Credit Cards

A man uses credit cards stolen from a hotel room in East El Paso.  Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for help to identify this man through the Crime of The Week.

 

On the afternoon of Sunday, May 2, 2021, at 2 P.M., the victim was going in and out of his hotel room at the Hampton Inn and Suites located at 6635 Gateway West while doing laundry. At some point, someone walked into the victim's room and stole his wallet.  On May 4, 2021, at 4:32 A.M., a man used one of the stolen credit cards at a Seven-Eleven store located at 4413 Dyer. The suspect is a White male, in his 30's, has an average build, and has short hair.  The man was wearing a white tee-shirt with a logo on the left breast area and dark pants.  The man was driving a light-colored 4-door car.

Two Men Steal a Vehicle From a Central El Paso Dealership

Two men were recorded on camera stealing a new vehicle from a Central El Paso car dealership. Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department ask for help identifying these car thieves through this Crime of The Week.

 

On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 14th, 2021, at 3:50 P.M., two men walked onto the lot of Casa Ford and Lincoln at 5815 Montana.

The men obtained the keys to a 2021 Lincoln Navigator and drove the new car off the lot. The suspects are both Hispanic males, in their mid-20's to early '30s, and have an average build. One of the men was wearing a white tee-shirt, gray pants, and black athletic shoes.

The other man was wearing a black tee-shirt, black pants, athletic socks, and sandals. The stolen vehicle has a value of $73,000.

Driver Stuck Man on a Northeast El Paso Highway

Two Men Burglarize A Newly Constructed Home
May 21, 2021

 

EL PASO, TEXAS – Two men steal doors and cabinets from a newly built home in northeast El Paso.  Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department asks for help identifying these burglars through this week’s Crime of The Week.

 

On the early morning of Sunday, April 18th, 2021, around midnight, two men drove to the 6900 block of Black Mesquite.  The men went to one of the newly constructed homes and found an unlocked door.  Once inside of the home, the men removed seven doors and a bathroom cabinet.  The men also stole a ladder and 10 gallons of paint. The suspect vehicles were captured by nearby cameras and are a dark 2002 Cadillac Escalade and an older 2000’s model Chevrolet Suburban.   Investigators believe these suspects could be involved in other similar burglaries.
